OmniFocus has a built-in Review feature that makes it easy to systematically review projects and single action lists at whatever frequency you deem necessary. It can work well to clear the Review queue daily. This distributes reviews over the week and helps ensure that projects and single action lists get timely attention.
If your review queue has gotten larger than you like, this custom perspective can help. It shows all remaining projects in your OmniFocus database and groups and sorts them by their Next Review date. Projects waiting for review the longest will be grouped at the top of the outline. You can also look forward in time and see which projects will land in your review queue in the near and distant future.
This perspective only shows projects; actions and action groups are omitted to keep the perspective from getting overwhelming. The sidebar is hidden by default to keep the focus on the grouped and sorted projects in the outline.
Choose View > Show in Projects or press ⌥ ⌘ R on the Mac to view and edit a project. On iPhone and iPad, long-press on the project and choose Show in Projects. When you’re done, use the back button to return to this perspective. You can mark projects reviewed without leaving this perspective by choosing Edit > Mark Review or ⇧ ⌘ R on the Mac. On iPhone and iPad, long-press on the project and select Mark Reviewed.
