This custom perspective can be used as an alternative to the built-in Inbox perspective. Actions are grouped based on the date they were added, which can be helpful when you have a lot of actions in your inbox that you’ve accumulated over time.
Generally, it’s recommended that you clear your inbox regularly so that your OmniFocus system accurately reflects your life and work. This perspective can be helpful if your inbox is larger than you’d like or if you simply want more control over its grouping and sorting. It’s worth noting that, unlike the built-in Inbox, this perspective doesn’t show a badge indicating how many actions are waiting to be processed.
You can customize this alternative inbox to suit your needs. For example, if you’re on vacation and have deferred non-time-sensitive inbox actions to be processed when you’re back in the office, you could set the Availability rule to “Available” so you don’t see non-time-sensitive actions in your inbox until you’re back at work.
