Learn OmniFocus Office Hours

Learn OmniFocus Office Hours create a bridge between learning OmniFocus features and best practices and practical application in day-to-day life.

Learn OmniFocus Office Hours are live sessions that give you the opportunity to connect face to face with Learn OmniFocus Founder, Tim Stringer and other Learn OmniFocus Members to discuss and ask questions about your OmniFocus setup and workflows.

During the session, you’re welcome to discuss and ask questions about anything related to OmniFocus and complementary third-party apps. For example, you can get advice on what tags to use, what perspectives will support you as you go through the day, how to establish a habit around regular reviews, and how to use OmniFocus alongside your mail and calendar apps of choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about Learn OmniFocus Office Hours. You’re welcome to contact us if further clarification is needed or if you any questions not covered in this FAQ.

Are these sessions recorded?

No. Learn OmniFocus doesn’t record these sessions, and participants are asked not to record these sessions in any form. People sometimes share details of their life and work during Office Hours sessions and it’s important that this information is kept confidential and not shared outside the group.

What should I do if I register for a session and later discover that I’m not able to attend?

If you register and discover that you’re not able to make it, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can make your spot available to another Learn OmniFocus Member. There’s a strict limit of ten people in each session and we strive to accommodate as many people as possible.

Do I need to be a Learn OmniFocus Member to attend these sessions?

Yes. Learn OmniFocus Office Hours are available exclusively to Learn OmniFocus Members. If you’re not a member or have let your membership lapse, you can join or re-join here. If you were previously a Learn OmniFocus Member you can use the account that you created when you first joined to avoid having to re-enter your contact information.

Why am I asked to have my video camera turned on during the session?

Our goal is to make these as much like an in-person experience as possible, even though participants are often thousands of miles apart. Having a video-conferenced session helps bring a strong human element to this online gathering. We’ve also observed that people tend to be more focused and present (and by extension get more out of the session) when they’re on camera.

Why am I asked to keep what is shared confidential?

You’re welcome to share your own experience with Learn OmniFocus Office Hours but are asked not to share anything that one of the other participants has shared unless you have their permission. This helps create a safe, trusted environment where all participants can get maximum value from their participation.

What are the prerequisites?

You’re welcome to attend Learn OmniFocus Office Hours even if you’ve been using OmniFocus for a relatively short time. We recommend that you have at least some experience with Learn OmniFocus before attending. Reading our articles and watching our Mastering the Basics videos is a good place to start.

Who leads these sessions?

Currently, all sessions are facilitated by Learn OmniFocus Founder, Tim Stringer. Tim is also available for private consultations. Visit the Private OmniFocus Coaching & Consulting page for more information.

Can you schedule sessions on different days and times?

Sessions are typically scheduled from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm Pacific Time. If the scheduled dates and times don’t typically work for you, please get in touch and let us know your preferred dates and times and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.
