Read on for more information on how it works, and complete the OmniFocus Coaching & Consulting form if you have questions or would like to book your first session.

How It Works

As a minimum, it’s recommended that you book an initial 90-minute session and a 60 or 90-minute follow-up session within two weeks of the initial session.

First Session

During the initial session, you’ll be guided through the process of creating a mind map for your “areas of focus” (in Getting Things Done speak), as described in this article. This mind map visually communicates the responsibilities you’ve assumed across all areas of your life and is very helpful when structuring or re-structuring OmniFocus. When reviewed and updated regularly, it also helps ensure that all areas of life are given the appropriate amount of attention.

Areas of Responsibility Mind Map: Smile PhotographyThis first session also includes a review of your OmniFocus setup and processes. Using the mind map as a guide, we’ll spend some time re-structuring your OmniFocus setup, as needed. And using the appropriate tags and perspectives, we’ll establish processes and workflows to support you in taking relevant action in your life and work. During the session, we’ll walk through some specific scenarios, including projects with a defined outcome and repeating and non-repeating actions that are grouped with single action lists.

Second Session

A follow-up session, typically scheduled a week or two after the initial session, is an opportunity to review your progress and fine-tune your workflows. We can also use this time to delve into more advanced OmniFocus functionality and explore other areas, including email, calendar, note-taking, and file management.

Additional Sessions

Some clients opt for additional sessions as they fine-tune their productivity setup and workflows. These sessions also help create accountability to support you in reaching goals and developing productive new habits.
