Fine Tuning OmniFocus?
Is OmniFocus serving you well overall and helping guide your life and work? We’ll help you take your setup and practice to the next level.
We see productivity as an art. Like any art, it’s something that needs to be practiced and can be continually improved over the course of your life. Practically speaking these improvements consist of enhancements to the organizational structure of your productivity system and the developing and honing of habits that allow you to put this system to good use in your day-to-day life.
Hone Your Review Practice
One of the keys to having a useful, relevant, and trusted productivity system is to perform regular reviews. These range from short reviews that you perform each day to more in-depth reviews that take place once a year.
Our Mastering Reviews with OmniFocus 3 course (Members) emphasizes the importance of reviews and gives you practical ways to make them an integral part of your life and work. It highlights the importance of identifying and reviewing all parts of your productivity system and shows how complementary productivity apps (e.g. Asana, Trello, Notion) can be used alongside OmniFocus.
Draw Inspiration From OmniFocus Experts
We’ve made it our mission to research and share best practices for using OmniFocus and complementary apps in a productive way. We acknowledge that people’s lives and work can vary dramatically and that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all formula. We actively seek out OmniFocus aficionados who are using OmniFocus in a wide variety of creative ways.
Here as some examples of OmniFocus experts who have graced OmniFocus’ virtual stage. Our LIVE sessions (Members) give you the opportunity to engage with guests in an interactive way. And recordings of these sessions (Free) are made available both on Learn OmniFocus and on our popular YouTube channel.
Automation technologies provide you with powerful ways to add both efficiency and accuracy to your OmniFocus setup. And it can be a bit daunting to get going with all of the options and technologies that you have at your disposal. We’re here to help you make sense of it all.
Looking at some examples is a good place to start. We have directories with a growing list of examples of how you can automate your OmniFocus workflows using Shortcuts on iPhone and iPad (Free), AppleScript on Mac (Free), and Omni Automation Plug-Ins on Mac, iPhone, and iPad (Free).
Automation is also a topic that we cover in many of our videos, courses, and LIVE sessions. Our Automate OmniFocus page provides you with a summary of articles, videos, and courses (Free and Members) in our Content Library that feature automation.
