Creates a draft in Drafts for the project you choose, with links between the draft and the project.
Some projects benefit from a place to take notes alongside the actions in OmniFocus: a summary of what the project is about, a list of deliverables, helpful resources and a log of what’s been done along the way.
This shortcut creates a draft in Drafts for the OmniFocus project you choose and links the two. It adds a link to the draft to the project’s note and a link to the project below the draft’s title, so you can move between them as you work. The new draft then opens in Drafts, ready for your notes.
The draft is stored in the Drafts archive, so it doesn’t clutter your inbox, and is assigned the tag you specify (“project support” by default) so it’s easy to find.
New drafts include headings for Summary, Deliverables, Resources and Log of Activities. You can customize this template by editing the shortcut and changing the text under the heading of Draft Template.
Initial Setup
You’ll be asked one question when you install the shortcut.
Draft Tag: The tag assigned to new drafts (“project support” by default). If the tag doesn’t exist, Drafts creates it.
This answer can be changed later by editing the shortcut.
Using the Shortcut
Run the shortcut and enter a full or partial project name, or leave it blank to see all active projects. Choose the project from the list.
The new draft is stored in the Drafts archive with your tag, titled with the project name. In Drafts, turn on Link Mode to open the OmniFocus project from the link.
Customizing the Shortcut
Settings at the top of the shortcut let you change:
Draft Template: What appears after the OmniFocus link in new drafts.
OmniFocus Link: The text of the link to the OmniFocus project near the top of new drafts (“Open OmniFocus Project” by default).
Draft Link: The text of the link to the draft added to the OmniFocus project’s note (“Open Draft” by default).
