Creates a Craft document for the project you choose, with links between the document and the project.
Some projects benefit from a place to take notes alongside the actions in OmniFocus: a summary of the project, a list of deliverables, helpful resources, and a log of what’s been done along the way.
This shortcut creates a Craft document for the OmniFocus project you choose and links the two. It adds a link to the document to the project’s note and a link to the project at the top of the document, so you can move between them as you work. The new document then opens in Craft, ready for your notes.
New documents include headings for Summary, Deliverables, Resources, and Log of Activities. You can customize this template by editing the shortcut and changing the text under the Craft Template heading.
Initial Setup
You’ll be asked two questions when you install the shortcut.
Craft Space: The Craft space where new project documents are created.
Document Link: A link to any document in that space. The shortcut uses this link when creating the Craft document link that’s added to the selected OmniFocus project. On Mac, Control-click a document in Craft and choose Copy Link. On iPhone or iPad, long-press a document and choose Copy Link.
These answers can be changed later by editing the shortcut. If you change the space, also replace the document link with a link to a document in the new space. If the document link is missing or isn’t a link to a Craft document, the shortcut explains how to fix it.
Using the Shortcut
Run the shortcut and enter a full or partial project name, or leave it blank to see all active projects. Choose the project from the list.
The new document is created in Unsorted, titled with the project name. You can then move it to the appropriate folder within Craft.
Customizing the Shortcut
Settings at the top of the shortcut let you change:
Craft Template: What appears after the OmniFocus link in new Craft documents.
OmniFocus Link: The text of the link to the OmniFocus project at the top of new Craft documents (“Open OmniFocus Project” by default).
Craft Link: The text of the link to the Craft document added to the OmniFocus project’s note (“Open Craft Document” by default).
