Design Your OmniFocus Setup and Workflows

Create an OmniFocus setup you’ll actually use. This interactive workshop guides you through designing (or redesigning) your system and establishing sustainable workflows.
You may have started using OmniFocus with enthusiasm, only to find that it becomes underused or misaligned with your reality. Whether you’re just getting started with OmniFocus or your setup has become cluttered or ineffective, this interactive workshop will help you design a setup you’ll trust and the workflows that make it sustainable.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll work through:
- Creating an areas of focus mind map and translating it into your OmniFocus folder structure
- Designing your tag system for convenient access to relevant actions
- Installing and fine-tuning custom perspectives for planning, doing, and maintenance
- Establishing sustainable workflows that keep your system clean and functional
Whether you’re new to OmniFocus or your current setup has become cluttered or ineffective, you’ll leave with a clear roadmap for a system that actually works with your life and work.

Recommended Preparation
To get the most from this workshop, consider reviewing some or all of the following content beforehand: Start Smart with OmniFocus 4, OmniFocus 4: Beyond the Basics, and articles on mind mapping your responsibilities, creating structure, and designing your tag system.
Registration in this session is limited to 20 participants to allow maximum interactivity. When you register, you’ll be asked to agree to participate with your video camera turned on and to keep what other participants share confidential. Sessions won’t be recorded to help protect participants’ privacy.
When you register for a session, you’ll receive a Zoom link by email and be prompted to add it to your calendar. Please plan to arrive at least a couple of minutes before the start time to ensure your camera and microphone are working. You’re welcome to join up to ten minutes early and stick around for ten minutes after for questions and social time.
