Add Single Action List to OmniFocus

How To Use Shortcuts

This Shortcut is available for Members only

Creates a single action list in the folder you choose.

A single action list is a project of type “Single Actions” that contains one-off actions that don’t contribute to a defined outcome. Single action lists typically represent an area of life (e.g., Friends & Family, Accounting) or a role (e.g., Team Lead).

This shortcut creates a single action list in the folder you choose and opens it to facilitate adding actions. A prefix is added to the title (📦 by default) to help differentiate single action lists from parallel and sequential projects.

Initial Setup

You’ll be asked one question when you install the shortcut. The answer can be changed later at the top of the shortcut by editing the corresponding Text action.

Single Action List Prefix â€“ Added to the front of every single action list title (e.g., a prefix of “📦” results in a single action list of “📦 Fun & Recreation”). You can change the prefix or leave it empty if you prefer not to use one.

Using the Shortcut

Run the shortcut and enter the title of the single action list you’re creating. Next, enter a full or partial folder name, or leave it blank to see all of your folders, then tap or click the one you want. A new single action list is created in the folder you chose. If the single action list already exists, you’ll be taken to this list in OmniFocus to avoid creating a duplicate.
