June 2, 2026 marks twelve years since Learn OmniFocus first opened its virtual doors. That’s twelve years of courses, videos, articles, live sessions, and conversations with people who, like me, care deeply about working with intention.
Each year, I take a moment to reflect on where we’ve been and share a glimpse of where we’re headed.
2026 Theme: Sustainability
The 2026 theme for Learn OmniFocus is sustainability. I’m here to help you build a system and workflows that serve you well over the long term. When your productivity system is working well, you have more capacity to focus on the bigger picture of life and work.
Since launching, people from over 80 countries have joined Learn OmniFocus. With a community that spans the globe, it’s fitting to support organisations working to improve the health of our planet.
In that spirit, I’m making monthly donations to Biome Conservation. I had the pleasure of sitting down with their Executive Director, Ana Mandri, to talk about their work and why this partnership felt right. I encourage you to watch that interview if you haven’t already.
Our Growing Content Library
The OmniFocus Content Library has continued to grow. This past year, I’ve placed particular emphasis on the role OmniFocus plays in a broader productivity system and on making effective use of features that are underused or misunderstood, such as estimated durations.
It’s important to be clear on why you need a personal task manager in the first place, and what you want to get out of OmniFocus specifically.
There’s a video that walks through 10 Features That Set OmniFocus Apart. It’s worth watching if you’re considering adopting OmniFocus or already use it and want to make sure you’re not missing any of OmniFocus’s signature features.
Learn OmniFocus is about much more than OmniFocus. While OmniFocus is the focal point, I regularly feature other productivity apps and explore a variety of methodologies. Apps that I feature are listed in the OmniFocus App Directory, with more to come.
LIVE Sessions and Workshops
There’s a lot to be gained from learning live and working through a process alongside other people, and LIVE sessions remain a central part of what Learn OmniFocus offers.
Over the past year, I introduced workshops to help you Get OmniFocus Back on Track and Design Your OmniFocus Setup and Workflows. I offer regular Office Hours and Virtual Coworking sessions throughout the year.
I’ve continued the tradition of Workflow Guest interviews. Most recently, Mike Williams joined me to share practical ways to reconcile long-term visions with daily actions. I’m looking forward to welcoming more guests to Learn OmniFocus in the future.
I’m excited to announce a new series launching this summer: Focus Labs. The first session is called Focus Labs: Audio Soundscapes, offered for the first time on July 8, 2026. Additional Focus Labs workshops will be introduced later this year.
Artificial Intelligence and Apple Intelligence
I’ve received a lot of questions about AI technologies and what they mean for OmniFocus and productivity workflows. It’s a space I’m following carefully, and I’ll have more to share on this subject in the coming months.
I’m especially curious to see what system-level tools become available to OmniFocus and other apps with the release of OS 27 this fall. We’ll get our first look at what’s coming at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), running June 8-12, 2026.
OmniFocus Resources
I provide free OmniFocus resources to support everyone who uses OmniFocus, including the OmniFocus App Directory, Custom Perspectives for OmniFocus, the OmniFocus Plug-In Directory, the OmniFocus Tag Directory, and Shortcuts for OmniFocus.
There’s work going on behind the scenes to make these resources even more useful. Most recently, Custom Perspectives for OmniFocus received an update to make it significantly easier to find what you’re looking for.
Many Thanks
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who’s supported Learn OmniFocus over the years. I feel honoured that you’ve put your trust in me, and I love being able to do work that makes a difference. As always, drop me a line if you have requests for content and services.
Thanks also to the Omni Group for their continued dedication to OmniFocus. Highlights from the past year include planned dates, mutually exclusive tags, and enhanced repeats. These are the kind of thoughtful additions that open up entirely new workflow possibilities.
I’d also like to thank Alex, Learn OmniFocus’s intrepid web developer, who has introduced countless features and enhancements over the years and keeps everything running smoothly.
