Cardhop
App Description
Cardhop is an innovative contacts app from Flexibits, the same team behind Fantastical. Available for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro, Cardhop reads from and writes to the same Contacts database that Apple’s Contacts app uses, so the two can be used interchangeably, and any change made in one is immediately reflected in the other.
What Cardhop adds is a fast, natural language interface that makes it quick and convenient to find, add, edit, and act on the people and organizations in your contacts. Type something like “call John” or “email Jane lunch tomorrow?” and Cardhop will take the appropriate action.
Linking Cardhop Contacts from OmniFocus
Cardhop’s support for contact links makes it a great complement to OmniFocus. Each contact in Cardhop has a unique Contact URL that can be included in the note field of an OmniFocus action or project; tapping or clicking this link opens Cardhop to that contact.
For example, if you have an action like “Contact John Ternus with product ideas” in OmniFocus, you can paste a Cardhop link to John’s record in the note field, making it a single tap or click away to look up his phone number, email address, or any other detail you have on file. Including links in the note field can help encourage action. The more convenient it is to take the next step, the more likely you are to check the action off your list.
Cardhop links work consistently across Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. A contact link added on one device opens the same record on any other device. This is particularly useful if you process actions on the Mac but tend to act on them while you’re on the go.
Capturing Contact-Related Actions into OmniFocus
To make it even easier to capture contact-related actions, we’ve created a Shortcut that searches your Cardhop contacts and creates a new OmniFocus action with the contact’s name in the title of the action and a link to the contact in the note field.
