BusyCal

A highly-customizable alternative to Apple's Calendar app with an extensive feature set, including OmniFocus integration.

App Description

BusyCal is essentially a Pro version of the Calendar app that comes pre-installed on your Apple Devices. It’s highly customizable, especially on the Mac, and has a plethora of features that add ease and convenience to your calendar management.

BusyCal for Mac is well integrated with OmniFocus. If you drag an OmniFocus project, action group or action into BusyCal, an appointment will be created with a link to the item you dragged in. For example, if you drag the “🧭 Ready for Trip to Eire” project from OmniFocus to BusyCal, a new “🧭 Ready for Trip to Eire” appointment will be created with an OmniFocus link to this project.

When creating an appointment based on something in OmniFocus, BusyCal will check to see if the OmniFocus item has an estimated duration. If it does, the appointment length will automatically match the estimated duration. This can be very convenient for setting aside time for specific tasks.

For example, if you have an OmniFocus action to “Research vegetarian restaurants in Dublin” that has an estimated duration of 30 minutes, dragging this action into BusyCal will create an appointment called “Research vegetarian restaurants in Dublin” with a duration of 30 minutes and a link to the OmniFocus action.

Tip: Although the OmniFocus drag-and-drop functionality is only available on the Mac, links to OmniFocus projects, groups, and actions will work on the iPhone and iPad.
