SUMMARY:Getting OmniFocus Back on Track
DESCRIPTION:You may have started using OmniFocus with great enthusiasm\, but somewhere along the way the excitement many have waned. Perhaps using OmniFocus has started to feel like another obligation to fulfill\, rather than a powerful ally that helps you do your best work. This webinar will serve as a guide as you get OmniFocus back on track and help you avoid pitfalls in the future. \nOverview of Webinar\nFor those of you who have been using OmniFocus for a while\, this webinar is designed to help you reignite your enthusiasm for OmniFocus as you unlock its potential. And if you’re new to OmniFocus\, this webinar is a great opportunity to learn how to spot common pitfalls before they compromise your productivity. \nDrawing upon insights presented in one of our most popular articles\, Common OmniFocus Pitfalls and How to Avoid Them\, this webinar will take you through the most common OmniFocus missteps. As you go through the webinar\, you’ll be invited to take a critical look at your own system. And\, if you’ve fallen into any (or all) of these pitfalls\, fear not. You’ll receive guidance to help you get back on the bandwagon. \nTransforming Your OmniFocus Setup\nThis webinar will take you on a guided review of your OmniFocus setup. You’ll identify problem areas and will take steps to transform your OmniFocus setup so that you have a system that helps you navigate life and work with grace and ease. We’ll focus on the following areas: \n\nIssue: OmniFocus Has Become a Dumping Ground — Perhaps you developed a solid habit of emptying your mind into the OmniFocus inbox…and ended up with an unmanageable amount of unclarified information. We’ll look at how to deal with an overloaded system\, and how to avoid this situation in the future. This includes clarifying what belongs in OmniFocus and what is best kept elsewhere.\nIssue: Unclarified Projects and Actions — One key to unlocking OmniFocus’ prowess is to establish a habit around creating clearly defined projects and actions. As we go through the webinar you’ll have the opportunity to review your existing projects and actions and to determine if they’re in need of additional clarification.\nIssue: Overwhelming Number of Overdue Items — It can be tempting to add due items to things that you want to get done by a specific date\, even though they’re not technically due. We’ll review best practices for the use of due dates and will look at ways to transition towards using due dates effectively.\nOmniFocus is Out of Date — Keeping OmniFocus up-to-date and relevant is key to having it be an effective tool. If you’ve neglected your OmniFocus housekeeping\, you’re likely not very motivated to use it and may return to old habits of being driven by latest and loudest. We’ll look at some ways to revive your OmniFocus setup and practice as well as strategies to keep it from being left to gather virtual dust down the road.\nIssue: Too Many…or Not Enough Contexts — Contexts can be a highly effective way to target specific actions based on things like your physical location\, your energy level and the people you’re with. You’ll be guided through a review and revamp of your current contexts so that you can get maximum value from this powerful feature.\n\nRecommended Prerequisites\nEspecially if you’re new to OmniFocus\, it’s recommended that you watch the recording of the Start Smart with OmniFocus webinar before attending this webinar. You might also want to watch the recording of the OmniFocus: Beyond the Basics webinar.

SUMMARY:Automating OmniFocus on iOS
DESCRIPTION:Recent under-the-hood improvements to OmniFocus for iOS have opened up a multitude of ways to automate OmniFocus on iOS. If your work is at all repetitive\, the time and energy invested to learn and implement automation pays handsome dividends. \nFor example\, templates created in Editorial for iOS can be transformed into new OmniFocus projects within seconds. You can choose to be prompted for project-specific information\, including the project start and due dates and strings to be inserted into the project (e.g. the name of a client). In addition to dramatically speeding up project creation\, this approach is methodical by nature and minimizes the chance of anything slipping through the cracks. \nAttend the webinar and learn: \n\nHow to create projects based on templates using OmniFocus in combination with Editorial for iOS\, a plain text editor for iOS that supports automation and the OmniFocus-compatible TaskPaper format.\nHow to automate interactions between OmniFocus and other apps (e.g. Fantastical) using Workflow for iOS.\nHow to use Launch Center Pro for iOS to conveniently trigger workflows and quickly access OmniFocus data and features.\nHow to conveniently capture information into OmniFocus using Drafts for iOS.\nAnd more…\n\nAn Interactive Experience\nDuring the webinar you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and share insights using the chat box and audio/video conferencing. You’re welcome to join the webinar 15 minutes before the start time to familiarize yourself with the online meeting technology we’re using and for an informal chat with other participants.
