IFTTT

IFTTT (If This Then That) is a web-based service that can be used to automatically trigger the creation of OmniFocus actions based on a wide range of conditions.

App Description

IFTTT is short for “If This Then That”. It’s a web-based service that allows you to automate your life and work using “recipes”. A recipe is triggered by a specific condition (the “this”) and results in an action being taken (the “that”). You can create and edit recipes using the web interface or the iOS/iPadOS app.

For example, if you added something important to Pocket and wanted to make sure you read it before the meeting on Friday, you could tag it with “must read” and have IFTTT create an action in OmniFocus prompting you to read the article. It might also be useful to create an IFTTT receipt that creates a “Pay: BC Hydro” action in OmniFocus each time you receive an email from BC Hydro with the word “Invoice” in the subject line. The possibilities are endless.

Tip: IFTTT creates actions in OmniFocus by sending an email to the OmniFocus Mail Drop address that is included with the Omni Group’s free Omni Sync Server service.

Free and Paid Plans

The free IFTTT Standard account allows you to create two “Applets”. There’s also a paid IFTTT Pro plan that supports up to 20 Applets and multi-action applets. And the IFTTT Pro+ plan allows for unlimited Applet creation and introduces additional features, including the ability to user queries and filter code.
